It's actually a digital voice recorder that simulates the call and records the Christmas List.
Press the call button and it sounds like a real call to the North Pole.
Santa's answering machine picks up and says that he and the elves are busy making toys so please leave a message with your Christmas list at the sound of the tone.
It records the message which can be played back by pressing the play button. Press the numbers 1-9 to hear Santa call out his reindeer.
