Toddy Shop at Omalloor

As all of you might be aware, there is a Toddy Shop (Kallu Kada) located at Omalloor Kurishummoodu Junction. The landlord of this toddy shop is someone named, Anandan. By virtue of this toddy shop, the sanctity of the said Omalloor junction is lost.

Besides the Jesus Cross at the junction (roughtly 100 metres from this toddy shop), on the way to Manjanikkara (on the left) we have a Devi Temple, and off the road goes to the sacred Church at Manjanikkara. Behind the toddy shop, we have a Devi Temple. On the road to Pathanamthitta, we have the famed Omalloor Rakthakanda Swamy Temple. In addition to all that, the vicinity of the said toddy shop is a residential area with no commercial activity taking place.

In view of the above, how anyone hailing from Omalloor could tolerate the presence of a toddy shop in that vital place of Omalloor. This toddy shop is frequented by hoodlums and hooligans who have become a menace in the area making it impossible for the residents around to even walk.

A case in point is the man who has been detained by the Pathanamthitta Police recently in connection with the daylight murder of an old lady and her caretaker at Pathanamthitta. The fellow, we are told, had been a frequenter at this toddy shop.

With all aforementioned being borne in mind, every right thinking person of Omalloor shall compaign for the closer of this Toddy Shop with immediate effect. Alternatively, let the authorities concerned relocate this toddy shop to a remote area i.e. somewhere at the Omalloor Thara (market place) so that the god fearing people at Omalloor Jesus Cross junction can breath easy.

May I therefore request the patronage of all people concerned at Omalloor to have the said Toddy shop eliminated from our residential area.
